Inventory Reorder Point Calculator
Work out the stock level that should trigger your next order, so you stop running out during your supplier lead time.
Frequently asked questions
What is a reorder point?
The stock level at which you place your next order. It covers everything you expect to sell while you wait for the shipment, plus a buffer for demand that runs hotter than forecast.
How much safety stock should I hold?
Seven to fourteen days of cover suits most small sellers. Increase it when your supplier is unreliable, when lead times swing, or ahead of a peak season such as Q4.
Should I use average or peak daily sales?
Use a recent average for normal months, but switch to peak-period figures when heading into a busy season, or you will hit the reorder point far too late.
