Etsy’s 2026 Cyber Specials runs from November 23 through December 1, and sellers should opt in by October 27 if they want to be considered for Etsy marketing features. Etsy’s US guidance requires at least 25% off; its UK guidance says sellers should offer up to 30% for marketing eligibility. Participation or meeting the discount threshold does not guarantee a feature. Before joining, calculate the profit left on each eligible listing—then refresh the listings that can handle the discount.

Etsy published these details in its Holiday HQ and Help Center guidance available on October 7, 2026. Criteria can vary by market or change, so the event card shown in Shop Manager should take priority for your account.
How to join the sale event
On Etsy.com, go to Shop Manager → Marketing → Sales and discounts → Join Etsy’s next sales event. Select Cyber Specials, choose the discount and decide whether it applies to the whole shop or selected listings, then save. In the Etsy Seller app, the route starts under More → Marketing → Sales & discounts.
Etsy says sellers may join after the event starts, but late participation does not satisfy the October 27 deadline for possible marketing consideration. Etsy encourages sellers to keep the sale running for the full event, although a seller can end it early. The discount name is only for the seller’s tracking and is not visible to buyers.
Do not raise a regular price just before applying a discount to create an artificial saving. Etsy explicitly warns sellers to follow consumer-protection laws and says the original price must have been in place for a substantial period. The exact legal standard depends on where you sell and where buyers are located.
Run a profit test before offering 25% off
A 25% sale reduces a $40 item to $30. That $10 reduction comes out before Etsy fees, production cost, packaging, shipping support and advertising. Use the Discount & Sale Price Calculator to confirm the buyer’s price, then test the complete order in the Etsy Fee Calculator.
Cyber Specials profit = sale price + buyer-paid shipping − product cost − packaging − seller-funded shipping − Etsy fees − advertising − expected return cost
Etsy’s current policy charges a 6.5% transaction fee on the displayed listing price plus shipping and gift wrapping. Etsy Payments processing fees are additional, vary by the location of the seller’s bank account and are generally assessed on the total sale, including shipping and applicable tax. Regulatory, currency-conversion, listing-renewal or Offsite Ads fees may also apply.
Consider a $40 product offered at 25% off with free shipping. The sale price is $30. If product cost is $10, seller-funded shipping is $3, packaging is $1, attributed advertising is $2.50, the 6.5% transaction fee is $1.95 and the seller’s account shows $1.15 in payment processing for the order, the remaining contribution is $10.40. This example excludes tax, regulatory fees, Offsite Ads, refunds and overhead; replace every assumption with the numbers from your own account.
Find your maximum safe discount
Start with the minimum contribution profit you must keep per order. Add that target to all variable costs and expected marketplace fees. The difference between your regular price and that required revenue is the maximum discount budget.
- Enter the regular price and 25% into the discount calculator.
- Add product, labour, packaging and seller-funded delivery costs.
- Add Etsy’s transaction fee and your country-specific processing fee.
- Include advertising, Offsite Ads exposure and a realistic allowance for returns where relevant.
- Compare the result with your minimum contribution target using the Profit Margin Calculator.
If the listing misses the target, do not assume higher volume will repair a loss on every order. Exclude the listing, reduce avoidable costs, adjust the offer within Etsy’s displayed event rules or reserve it for a promotion with a smaller discount.
Choose listings instead of discounting everything
Etsy allows sellers to choose whether an event discount applies at shop or listing level. A selective sale is often safer for shops with mixed margins. Start with products that have enough contribution, dependable stock, manageable production time and a proven conversion history.
Give extra attention to listings receiving traffic but producing fewer sales. Etsy’s October 2026 Holiday HQ specifically recommends starting there because buyer interest already exists. Review the thumbnail, price, delivery promise, description and variation choices before changing keywords.
- Strong candidates: repeatable products, healthy-margin bundles, ready-to-ship gifts and listings with reliable stock.
- Use caution: labour-heavy personalization, fragile items, expensive-to-ship products and listings likely to incur rush costs.
- Usually exclude: products already at minimum viable price, items with uncertain materials supply and orders you cannot dispatch within the stated processing time.
Refresh listings for holiday shoppers
A discount cannot rescue an unclear listing. Etsy’s Holiday HQ recommends a clear, well-lit first image, more views showing scale and detail, a short product video, readable titles, complete descriptions and all 13 relevant tags. Etsy reports that listings with at least 10 images can see up to 30% higher conversion, listings with video can see up to 12% more sales per impression, and descriptions of roughly 250 or more words can see up to 5% higher conversion.
Those figures are based on aggregated Etsy marketplace data from January 2023 through January 2026. They are associations, not guaranteed results for an individual shop.
For titles, describe the item accurately in language a holiday shopper can understand at a glance. Etsy’s current keyword guidance says title position does not affect ranking, but it still recommends leading with the words that best describe the product because mobile shoppers see the beginning first. Avoid keyword lists that make the title difficult to read.
Use the Listing Title & Tag Optimizer to spot repeated terms, weak tag variety and readability problems. Then apply Etsy’s current guidance: use all 13 tag slots, prefer accurate multi-word phrases, avoid repeating categories and attributes, and use specific long-tail phrases when they genuinely describe the item. The guide to Etsy titles and tags provides a useful starting structure, but Etsy’s newer official guidance should control if advice conflicts.
Build a Cyber Specials listing checklist
- Price: Confirm the sale price and remaining contribution after every applicable fee.
- Stock: Reserve sellable inventory for the November 23–December 1 period.
- Hero image: Show the exact item clearly without a distracting seasonal overlay.
- Delivery: Set processing times you can meet under peak volume.
- Gift details: Explain what is included, dimensions, materials, personalization deadline and gift-wrap options.
- Search: Use an accurate title, complete attributes and 13 distinct relevant tags.
- Returns: Make the policy easy to find, especially for personalized products.
Review the Etsy holiday shipping-profile guide before promising Christmas delivery. If you combine multiple products in one order, use the Etsy Multi-Item Shipping Calculator to check whether an additional-item rate creates a hidden loss.

Frequently asked questions
When is Etsy Cyber Specials 2026?
Etsy says the event runs from November 23 through December 1, 2026.
What is the Etsy Cyber Specials opt-in deadline?
Opt in by October 27, 2026 to be considered for Etsy marketing features. Sellers can join after the event starts, but late participation does not restore eligibility tied to that deadline.
How much discount is required?
Etsy’s US guidance says at least 25% off. Its UK guidance says sellers should offer up to 30% for marketing eligibility. Check the event criteria shown in your Shop Manager because requirements can be market- and account-specific.
Does opting in guarantee Etsy will feature my shop?
No. Etsy says qualifying shops may be considered or featured. Its merchandising team also looks for strong photography, unique products, a well-crafted shop story and developed branding.
Can I include only selected listings?
Yes. Etsy’s setup flow lets sellers choose whether the discount applies at shop or listing level. Selecting only products that pass the margin and capacity checks can reduce risk.
Can I raise prices before applying the sale?
Do not increase a price merely to manufacture a larger-looking discount. Etsy warns that sellers are responsible for consumer-protection compliance and says the original price must have been in place for a substantial time.
