When does Etsy require AI disclosure?
When AI played a meaningful role in creating the item itself, such as an AI-generated image, print or design, not just in writing marketing copy. The listing must then be categorized correctly and the description must clearly disclose the AI involvement.
What happens if I do not disclose AI use?
Etsy can remove the listing. Enforcement combines automated detection, manual review and buyer reports, and repeat violations can lead to account restrictions.
Does this apply to other marketplaces too?
